Bí ngòi làm sạch, cắt bí thành miếng vừa ăn. Ớt và tỏi thái lát. Đun nóng khoảng 2 muỗng canh dầu ăn, xào sơ hành tỏi và ớt xanh trước. Đổ bí vào chảo, xào 5 – 7 phút. Bạn nên vặn lửa nhỏ để hành tỏi không bị cháy.
Khi thấy bí đã chín tái, cho sốt cà chua, tương cà, muối tiêu, bột thì là, lá nguyệt quế và lá oregano vào chảo, đảo đều, đun thêm 5 – 10 phút nữa cho bí chín mềm thì tắt bếp, xúc ra đĩa, dùng với cơm.
